I guess everybody here knows about the 9 most famous pair of legs in the K-Pop business, also known as So Nyeo Shi Dae (or Girls’ Generation… or 少女時代…)
Gee can be considered as their break-out song, released back in 2009. Gee and, in a lesser extent, its follow-up Genie let presaged that SNSD was going to crush the competition and dominates the world. Or at least the K-Pop game.
Unfortunately, their next songs were not as catchy as Gee (which was really a viciously catchy miracle and impossible-to-get-out-of-your-head kind of song) and SNSD lost more and more ground against other female units such as KARA, T-ARA, 2NE1…
Anyway, enough about SNSD. Let’s talk about Aegyokiller that I presume you never heard of.
I don’t know much either about the guy behind this killer name but what I know is that he releases some crazy remixes of K-Pop tunes for free on his Soundcloud and Bandcamp. And that makes me happy. Because he is really good at it.
He also produces music of his own (I mean not remixes but original songs) but that will be for a next time.
He is part of the fabulous web-label Zoom Lens (home of Meishi Smile, Thieves Of Zozo, Malta, Thought Tempo, Smoke Room and other obscure/awesome artists).
Aegyokiller made a crazy Re-Edit of the K-Pop gem that is Gee. He brought the song to a whole different level.
In a good way.
Aegyokiller music is good, it brings a smile to my face.
I love Aegyokiller.
